Exhibition in Sissman Gallery cooperate with Opal Gallery, Tel Aviv, Israel

Uri Lifshitz, born 1936, is one of the leading voices in Israeli art.
He is considered a member of the top ten core group of artists in Israel.
The most extensive exhibition of the artist yet will take place in Sissman Gallery, Tel Aviv, Israel cooperate with Opal Gallery. The exhibition will encompass the body of Lifshitz's work alongside pivotal current series' and works from the 1980's and the 1970's.
The exhibition 'Back to the Future' will open on Thursday October 15th, 2009.
Over 70 works will be displayed. The main clout of works deal with
politics and the media and as the artist claims; 'Works created in real time'
The evacuation of Amona the Jewish settlement, The Palestinian uprising, the former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and other political personas as well as homage to Van Gogh and Delacroix are his frequent subjects.
The exhibition will also include sculpture, much of which has rarely been exhibited and which is an important element in Lifshitz's body of work.
 
This exhibition is a tribute to Lifshitz's creation and sheds light on the works of the artist, which is notorious for his distinctive perspective and controversial art.
