Avigdor Stematzky ( 1908-1989). Stematzky rose to the country Israel by the year of 1921 along with his family. He learned in Bezalel in the years 1926-1929. In the thirties traveled to Paris and recognized in her the art of the start of the century20. With his return to the country, there was Stematzky to one unify from the prominent artists by the movement of new horizons along with Joseph Zaritsky and Yehezkel Streichman. Style of work of Steimatzky was influenced from the abstract european paiting of but/auditorium, like most of the abstract israeli paiting he has sources Pigortibim. he was the recipient of many awards: the DIzengoff Prize (1941, 1946), the Ramat Gan Prize (1957), the Milo Club Prize (1976), the Jerusalem Prize (1967), the Sherman Prize (1972) and the Sandberg Prize (1976). His works have been exhibited in all Israeli museums and many galleries. Retrospective exhibitions of his work were held in 1972 and 1980 by the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
